The small resort of Puerto Pollensa, which is right next to the fishing port of the town of Pollensa, is a quiet and laid-back resort, picturesquely set against the backdrop of the Boquer mountain range. Located on the north coast of Mallorca, it stretches along a sheltered horseshoe-shaped bay, lined with beautiful beaches. Puerto Pollensa, unlike the more celebrated Spanish resorts of Magalluf and Palma Nova, is preferred by families and older couple opting for a more peaceful and laid-back vacation. The resort offers an amazing view of the sunrise and those who make the effort to wake up early, will definitely feel that the view was worth all the effort.

Puerto Pollensa`s local beaches are sandy and benefit from shallow waters which is ideal for younger children. In the town there are four small coves and a quiet, uncrowded main beach. A selection of water sport activities is available on the beaches and the bus stops nearby. There is a palm lined promenade, marina, shops, boutiques, cafes, bars, restaurants and nightlife - all with a relaxed atmosphere. Hidropark Alcudia: Although not as big as the waterparks situated in the south of the island, the Hidropark is a good attraction for families of all ages. Apart from a wave pool there are twisting slides; bumpy slides; straight slides; kamakazi slides and a slide that's totally covered in for the extra fear factor. The younger children are also catered for with 2 children's pools with climbing frames and slides; trampolines; super golf; kids play area and restaurants. The usual associated facilities such as lockers, sunbeds, etc are all available to hire and there's a good choice of eateries. If on a tight budget you may wish to take a picnic lunch and drinks with you as the restaurant prices can be high.
