 El Arenal was one of Mallorca's first large scale tourist developments. It is still a popular resort for holidaymakers and offers all the convenience and amenities you would expect. The hotels and apartment blocks are close to the commercial centre which has a good selection of international bars and restaurants and a large variety of local and souvenir shops. The beach, Playa De Palma, is a long stretch of golden sand with a recently built promenade by the waterfront. The resort has a lively nightlife, offering a number of nightclubs and late bars.

When to go |
The major resorts on the south and eastern coast are open all year but you will find that the majority of resort in the north close between November and April. Temperatures in the south average in the low 20's Celsius during the winter months but rise to the high 20's during the summer peak season. |
