An endless white sandy beach on a long curving bay just north of Mallorca, leads you to the resort of Port d'Alcudia. The sprawling, purpose-built resort, together with its neighbour Playa de Muro, stretches for five miles (8km) either side of the coast road and is particularly popular with British, German and Scandinavian families. The atmosphere is quite relaxed with the beautiful beach serving as the major attraction.

| Things to do in Alcudia |
Alcudia is all about the fantastic beach but if you get bored or to sunburnt then below are a few suggestions. Alcudia Old Town. It's amazing how many visitors never get to see the real Alcudia which is a shame as it's only a 5 Euro taxi ride away. There's an archaeological museum, an amazing chapel and a bullring to name but a few places of interest. The streets are narrow, with tall buildings and dotted around are beautiful restaurants and shops selling hand crafted goods. Market days are Tuesday and Sunday between 08:00 and 13:00 hours.
Hidropark Alcudia: Although not as big as the waterparks situated in the south of the island, the Hidropark is a good attraction for families of all ages. Apart from a wave pool there are twisting slides; bumpy slides; straight slides; kamakazi slides and a slide that's totally covered in for the extra fear factor. The younger children are also catered for with 2 children's pools with climbing frames and slides; trampolines; super golf; kids play area and restaurants. The usual associated facilities such as lockers, sunbeds, etc are all available to hire and there's a good choice of eateries. If on a tight budget you may wish to take a picnic lunch and drinks with you as the restaurant prices can be high.
